Freshman Career Fair
The Freshman Class participates in an annual Career Fair with over thirty professionals
from the community visiting CBA. Each May, the freshman class is excused from
classes during the morning to visit with and interview professionals from all
walks of life. Students interact with the professionals through informal interview
sessions and open discussion sessions.
All of the fresmen have the opportunity to listen to various careers.

One of the careers discussed is Forensics
Senior High Peer Tutoring
Peer tutoring is offered during the student's study hall period to students who
need extra review or additional instruction in any of their academic classes.
Tutors are chosen and trained by the school counselors. Students may self refer,
or may be referred by teachers or parents to the program.
Job Shadowing Program
Juniors and seniors may participate in a half-day job-shadowing program during
the spring semester. Students need to be in good academic standing and must provide
their own transportation to and from the site they are visiting. Counselors conduct
a pre-site forum preparing the students for their placement.
College Applications
After students have
completed their observations, counselors conduct a post-site exercise with the
students, helping them integrate the information they gained from their job shadowing
experience, when selecting majors for college. Juniors and seniors are given assistance with the college selection process. CBA encourages the use of the Common Application Online to simplify the application process. Currently over 240 colleges and universities utilize this process. |
