Junior High

jr. high students homeworkThe Catholic Lasallian tradition is at the very heart of Christian Brothers Academy’s academic program and is the foundation of our educational community. As a college preparatory middle school, CBA provides a curriculum that presents a comprehensive view of the various branches of knowledge and their interrelations. The faculty strives to accentuate research and creativity to assist students in developing the powers of observation, imagination, reasoning, tolerance, and judgment necessary for growth toward freedom and responsibility.

The Junior High Experience: seventh and eighth graders at CBA are acclimated to the Brothers experience by a nurturing team of faculty and administrators. The orientation program for incoming 7th grade students features team building and hands on experiences which ease the transition to the rigors of a Christian Brothers Academy education. The Junior High Student Senate works with faculty to plan regular social activities which foster our close-knit, middle school community. In addition, the students participate in class retreats and field trips like the 7th grade trip to the Syracuse University Challenge Course and 8th grade trip to Gettysburg which further strengthen their bonds as Brothers. In late spring, seventh graders invite their grandparents to mass and breakfast while eighth graders celebrate their transition to high school with mass and a picnic, ready to move on to high school.
