Students Offering Support (SOS)
Miss Burrows is the moderator of the SOS group which was started 3 years ago with the goal of addressing important issues facing our students today. SOS is a peer leadership program developed to have the student leaders addressing their peers on these tough issues. Some of the topics of interest the group has covered are drugs/alcohol, racism, sexism and sexual harassment, hate crimes, putdowns, eating disorders, and homophobia.

Applications are offered to 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students in the spring. Interviews are held by SOS members and new members are selected. The new group will come together on a training day a week before school begins in September. The group generally has 25 to 30 members.
