The Writers Guild is a club for students in grades 9-12 who have an interest in
writing. The Guild is moderated by Mr. Todd Benware and meets twice a week after
school to share original stories, poems, and essays. It is also a forum to share
ideas and discuss writing in general in a very non-threatening atmosphere. Some
meetings involve writing exercises. The Guild sponsors CBA's annual Poetry Reading
and Arts Performance, complete with a Slam Poetry Competition. This allows CBA's
writers and musicians an opportunity to share their talents with an audience.
Allison Porzio '04 was the winner of the 2001 Syracuse
Penwomen Poetry Contest. She is shown with Mr. Benware accepting her ribbon and

In December, the Writer's Guild made holiday cards for patients
