Admissions Information for the 2010 - 2011 School Year
A limited number of places are available for interested students. In addition to completing an application, candidates for
admission are required to submit a transcript of grades and any pertinent test
scores. Acceptance is awarded based on academic performance and potential. Recommendations
and a personal interview may be required. CBA typically does not accept students
into the junior and senior classes unless they are moving into the area and the
applicant has previously attended another private school.
Admission Policy For Non-Entrance Exam Students
If you are new to the Syracuse area or your child did not take the CBA Entrance
Exam for 7th or 9th graders, and you desire admission to the school, you must
send a copy of your child's prior year and most recent transcripts, pertinent
test scores, and letters of interest from both the parents and the student. After
receipt of these materials, arrangements may be made with the school for a visit
and interview. Contingent upon space availability acceptance is granted only if
the student is academically qualified. If no space is available, a student will
be put on a waiting list for possible future admission.
Course Placement
Report card grades and relevant standardized test scores are used to place transfer
students in the appropriate courses. A student must meet the CBA prerequisites
for all courses, especially those at the honors level. The Assistant Principal
for Academic Affairs and the Guidance staff will assist all transfer students
with course placement.
