Alumni Happenings

1st Annual Alumni Football Game

The skies were clear and the air was brisk for the inaugural alumni football game on Friday, October 3. Eight alums (and a handful of enlisted future alums) hit the muddy CBA practice gridiron for some grueling flag football play. Referee John Marzocchi ’77 kept an eagle eye on the game, and Joe Riccardi ’67 and several CBA friends and family members cheered on the teams from the stands.

After an exacting 20 minutes, Matthew Vavonese, youngest son of Mike Vavonese ’76, made a dramatic touchdown catch, just at the ending buzzer, to tie the game. Players were then treated to pizza and wings in the cafeteria, where they shared memories of games and school days gone by. As this was such an enjoyable evening for all in attendance, it is certain that the event will grow in years to come.

Thanks to Mike Vavonese for helping to plan and execute this event, and to all who joined us:

Bob Battaglia ’76
Mark Grenga ’74
Lorenzo Jackson ’84
Tony Lenkiewicz ’76
John Marzocchi ’77
Paul Mortensen ’74
Paul Mullin ’76
