CBA STUDENT DRESS CODE 2010-2011 Each Family is required to be familiar with the guidelines for appropriate attire before the start of classes in September. Appropriate and neat attire is expected at CBA. Unacceptable attire and grooming reflect a poor image of the student as well as the school. It is important that students take PRIDE in their appearance. Everyone’s cooperation is anticipated. Oxford Shirts • Solid white or blue oxford style • Tucked in at all times, long enough to stay in while seated, no visible undergarments. • Generous fit • Clean and pressed • Girls-Only the top button may be undone, no visible undergarments. • Boys-All buttons fastened, worn with a tie, no undergarments with visible writing or designs. Golf Shirts • Solid colors only • No writing on shirts or large logos • Tucked in at all times, long enough to stay in while seated • May be worn with plain white undershirts only; No long sleeves under short sleeves • Generous fit • Clean and wrinkle free Pants • Docker style dress pants worn appropriately • No excessively loose or tight pants • All students must wear belts; No part of the belt may hang below the belt line. • Khaki, charcoal, navy or black solid colors only. • No lycra or stretch material • No frayed edges, velour, corduroy, denim or jean like material • No low riders, Capri pants, or cargo style pants Skirts • Knee length or longer • No slits allowed above the knee • Khaki, charcoal, navy, or black solid colors • No velour, denim, or frayed edges Sweaters • Crew, cardigan, v-neck, or vest style permitted • Any color or pattern permitted • No writing or large logos • Proper dress code style shirt must be worn under all sweaters • No turtleneck, mock turtleneck, or hooded sweaters allowed • No fleece, sweatshirts, knit shirts, warm-ups, or jackets over dress code shirts Shoes • Solid black or brown dress shoes must be worn throughout the school year. • No open toe shoes • Max. heel height approximately 2” • Boots, sneakers, skateboard, patterned, canvas, rubber, athletic, croc, moccasin, and slipper style shoes are NOT considered dress shoes and may not be worn during the school day. • Other than work-style boots, other boots appropriately worn (i.e. laced and tied) are allowed ONLY during announced winter months. • Socks or stockings must be worn at all times Hair • Must be a natural color • Neat, clean and acceptably styled (not covering the eyes) • Boys must be clean shaven and hair must be cut above the collar, ears, and eyebrows. Cornrows are not permitted for boys. Miscellaneous • Hats, scarves, and sunglasses are not permitted • Visible body piercings, markings, and tattoos are not permitted • Earrings (except for girls’ earrings) are not permitted for boys • Coats, jackets and other outerwear are not permitted during the school day |
