10th grade music

The 10th Grade Music course is a required course for all 10th graders and fulfills the NYS requirement for High School music. (1/2 credit-meets every day for one semester)

 

Course Description:

 

This course traces the developments and trends in music from the Ancient period up through the 20th Century. Students are introduced to the major composers and main musical forms from each historical period. Emphasis is placed on good organizational and listening skills. The Baroque, Classical, Romantic and 20th Century as well as popular music in the 20th Century are covered.
