Bodley Speaks At National Strings Conference
Muriel Bodley, Director of the CBA Orchestra, was a featured speaker at the National American String Teachers Conference held in Louisville, KY recently.
Bodley was selected to speak at this prestigious conference after she wrote for a book.
“A few years ago, Dr. Joanne May from Elmhurst College in Illinois decided to write a book for string teachers on how to address the technical problems involved with teaching string instruments to students,” Bodley shared. “Teachers from all over the country were asked to write for this book and I was the only one asked from New York State.”
According to Bodley, Dr. May decided to present a few of these ideas at the National Conference on a session entitled: “MY PASSION IN STRING TEACHING.”
In addition to Bodley, five professors from various colleges also spoke.
“It was a dynamic session with many in attendance, I was honored to have been asked,” Bodley said.
The conference was also the venue for the National Orchestra Competition as several high school orchestras were in attendance. Bodley has been at CBA since 2008.
