As the school year draws to a close, the 8th grade class at Christian Brothers Academy celebrated the hard work and fun times of their middle school years with sports, games and music at the 8th Grade Picnic, held May 28, 2010, at Pratt’s Falls State Park.

Students tested their scientific skills during a rocket launch contest held during the 8th Grade Picnic. Winners, pictured left to right, top row, included Charlie Russo, Sarah Martuscello, winner of the longest flight time award; Connor Agnew, Joe Darwish, Monica Hanson, Mary Hartnett, Deanna Cerlanek, Miranda Hagen, Emily Robison; bottom row, Megan Murphy and Meghan Macri.

As part of the activities, 8th graders were challenged to build a rocket from a two-liter soda bottle and power it with water or air pressure. There were 57 entries, and awards were given for highest altitude achieved and longest flight time. Mike Jorgensen won for highest altitude, while Sarah Martuscello achieved longest flight time.
