The CBA student body, staff and faculty joined Fr. James Carey, pastor of Church of the Nativity at St. Leo’s in Tully, St. Joseph’s in Lafayette, Immaculate Conception in Pompey, and St. Patrick’s in Otisco, to celebrate All Saints Mass on Thursday, Nov. 1.

“This feast day dates back several centuries when the church would commemorate the day after Halloween as a day to honor all holy men and women who had died and gone to heaven,” said junior Michael Fallon in his Call to Worship. “Throughout history, the great saints of the church were remembered on this day. These men and women, who gave their lives entirely for God, were people committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in everything they did.”

Many students participated in Mass including junior Matthew Doane, seniors Chris Bushnell and Katelyn Wendt, who did the readings and seniors Steven Sayles and Sabina Zarrella, who delivered the general intercessions. Gift bearers included seniors Jack Little, Chase Tesmer, and junior Jeff Phan.

The orchestra and the Jubilee Chorus, which includes both students and faculty, along with some instrumental and vocal soloists, provided the music for the Mass.

President Brother Joseph Jozwiak commissioned sixteen students to serve as Eucharistic Ministers for school liturgies. Those students include: Gia Anthony, Garrett Bowman, Mia Cannizzo, Michael Fallon, Ethan Hunt, Ryan Mackenzie, Shannon McMullen, Jeff Phan, Karrina Pullano, Sophie Schultz, Paige Snyder, Katy Stanard, Chase Tesmer, Bella Timmons, Katelyn Wendt, Sabina Zarrella, and Kathlyn Bushnell.

Following Mass, senior Danny Melvin introduced Kevin Frank. Frank talked about St. Lucy’s and their food pantry, which will benefit from the Dress Down day held on Nov. 2. For additional photos, like us on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/cbasyracuse/

President Brother Joseph Jozwiak was joined by Brother Arturo  and Brother Francis Eells at Mass.
