Christian Brothers Academy presented “The King & I” on March 30th and 31st, 2012, at Nottingham High Schools Auditorium. The show was extremely well received among audiences, selling out both nights. “This was undoubtedly one of the best (CBA) productions in recent years,” affirmed Principal Br. Joseph Jozwiak.
Proceeds from “Wishes for Kisses,” a special fund-raiser where parents made donations to “purchase” good wishes for cast members, benefited The Vera House and McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center through CBAs Annual Lenten Drive. Family and friends purchased good wishes for the cast members, symbolized by Hershey kisses that were packaged and given to students after the show. Over $200 was raised.
“The King & I” was directed by Eugene Moretti with musical direction by Bob Caraher. The show was produced by Laurine Feldmeth, choreographed by Christina Nicoletti Cierek 96, and costumed by Elaine Caraher. Michael Caccamo was the technical director.
The musical featured Sam Lim 14 as the King and Rebecca Scullin 12 as Anna. Other leading roles included Keith Huynh 13 (Lun Tha), Kate Sheehan 12 (Tuptim); Emily Doherty 12 (Lady Thiang); Sal Zarrella 16 (Chulalongkorn); Cole Speidel 13 (Kralahome); Pat Tuohey 14 (Phra Alack); Brian Jordan 14 (Louis); Sidney Perkins 13 (Sir Edward Ramsey) and Cameron MacPherson 12 (Capt.
