
CBA Inducts 10 into Lasallian Athletic Hall of Fame

On Saturday, November 6, 2010, Christian Brothers Academy will induct 10 alumni into the school’s Lasallian Athletic Hall of Fame at a dinner and induction ceremony to be held at the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel at 6:30 pm. Established in 2000 and sponsored by CBA’s Booster Club, the Hall of Fame honors those who have distinguished themselves not only in their interscholastic pursuits while at Christian Brothers Academy by also by their accomplishments in their chosen fields post-graduation.
The 2010 inductees are:
- Henry “Dutch” Dotterer ’48, former member of the Cincinnati Reds and the Syracuse Chiefs
- Benedict “Benny” Alibrandi ’57, CBA football and track star
- Tom Cooney ’60, long-time high school and college basketball coaching legend
- John Erardi ’70, baseball standout and sportswriter for the Cincinnati Enquirer
- Jay Sferra ’73, baseball and basketball star at CBA and the University of Colorado
- Kelly Hopkins ’77, set a state record and won the state title in the 100-yard breast stroke in 1977
- Jason Leone ’94, CBA and University of Rochester basketball star and current head coach at Keystone College
- Dan Glover ’97, CBA and Villanova University baseball standout
- Mike McQuatters ’97, soccer All-American and current CBA Girls Varsity Soccer coach
- Lisa Battaglia ’00, first and only CBA female swimmer to win a state title
