
CBA Presents “The King & I”
The Christian Brothers Academy Drama Department will present “The King & I” on Friday, March 30, and Saturday, March 31, 2012, at 7 p.m. each evening, at Nottingham High School Auditorium. This colorful and entertaining musical set in the 1800s tells the tale of Anna, a strong-willed British school teacher who travels to Siam, Thailand to tutor the Kings children and assist in his plan to modernize the country. Their relationship grows through conflict into a love that neither is able to express.
The musical features Sam Lim 14 as the King and Rebecca Scullin 12 as Anna. Other leading roles include Keith Huynh 13 (Lun Tha), Kate Sheehan 12 (Tuptim); Emily Doherty 12 (Lady Thiang); Sal Zarrella 16 (Chulalongkorn); Cole Speidel 13 (Kralahome); Pat Tuohey 14 (Phra Alack); Brian Jordan 14 (Louis); Sidney Perkins 13 (Sir Edward Ramsey) and Cameron MacPherson 12 (Capt. Orton). More than 50 students in grades 7 through 12 are also featured in the show as royal wives, royal children, guards, and other members of the royal court.

“The King & I” is directed by Eugene Moretti with musical direction by Bob Caraher. The show is produced by Laurine Feldmeth, choreographed by Christina Nicoletti Cierek 96, and costumed by Elaine Caraher. Michael Caccamo is the technical director.
