Eighth grade students took their classroom to the battlefield as they recently visited Gettysburg, Pa.
The two-day adventure included a visit to the Gettysburg Welcome Center, a cemetery walk, and a tour of the Gettysburg Museum. Other highlights included a ghost tour of the village and a chance to visit Jennie Wade’s house, a seamstress, who was the only Gettysburg civilian killed directly during the battle of Gettysburg. A few hours of games, laser tag and shopping rounded out the trip.
The 23nd annual trip led by CBA social studies teacher Laurine Feldmeth, is a complement to the 8th grade U.S. history curriculum.
