
Football And Golf Remain Unbeaten

CBA teams continue to excel on the field. Both the football team and boys golf team have perfect records. Here’s a look at last week’s action in Brothers athletics:
Football
The football team defeated Cicero-North Syracuse 42-21 on Friday. The Brothers racked up 384 yards on offense (232 rushing; 152 passing). Deshawn Salter scored four touchdowns in the win. It’s Homecoming this Friday as the unbeaten Brothers (3-0) host West Genesee at 7:00 p.m.
Boys Golf
The boys golf team remained undefeated (8-0) thanks to three victories last week. On Monday, Jack Bellardini shot a 40 and Drew Derrenbacker shot a 41 in a 219-268 win against ESM-Orange.
The team defeated Lafayette 201-283 on Wednesday. Low scores were posted by Bellardini (36) and Derrenbacker (37) in the win.
And, it was Bellardini (34) and Derrenbacker (39) again as the team defeated Phoenix 204-213 on Friday.
The team faces Mexico tonight, Chittenango on Tuesday and Cortland on Thursday.
Boys Soccer
The boys soccer team won all three of its games last week. Steve Castellini scored two goals and Mike Smith registered 13 saves in a 2-0 win against Henninger on Monday.
Matt DePerro notched two goals and Monte Stroman and Mike Smith each added one as the team blanked Mexico 4-0 on Thursday. Goalie Ethan Wiley had five stops.
DePerro scored all three goals in a 3-1 victory against Fulton on Saturday.
The boys are now 6-1 on the season. They host Homer on Tuesday, travel to Chittenango on Thursday and host Fayetteville-Manlius on Saturday.
Girls Soccer
The girls soccer team lost a tough 2-0 game to powerhouse Jamesville-Dewitt on Tuesday, but rebounded with a 1-0 win against East Syracuse-Minoa on Thursday. Kate LaCasse scored the team's only goal. Annie O'Brien registered six saves in the victory.
The team, now 4-2, hosts Chittenango tonight, and Fayetteville-Manlius on Friday.
Tennis
The girls tennis team lost to Homer 3-4 on Wednesday, defeated East Syracuse-Minoa 7-0 on Thursday, and lost to Jamesville-Dewitt 5-2 on Friday.
In the Homer match, Evie Lopoo was victorious in third singles. Sarah Roberts and Elizabeth Sasser won first doubles and Lauren DeLorenzo and Trisha Maini won fourth doubles.
Against ESM, Meghan Macri, Mikayla Santulli and Lopoo won their singles matches. Roberts and Sasser; Alison Croucher and Anna Kambhampaty; and Claire Bailey and DeLorenzo won their doubles matches. Santulli won her singles match and DeLorenzo and Maini were victorious in doubles in the loss to Jamesville-Dewitt.
The team travels to Chittenango tonight, Mexico on Tuesday and Fulton on Wednesday.
Cross Country
The girls cross country team picked up its first victory of the season on Wednesday. Led by Gabrielle Schug, Emily Garlatti, Megan Ann Pierce and Meredith Strott, the girls defeated Phoenix 25-31.
Both the girls and boys cross country teams meet Solvay on Wednesday.
Swimming
The girls swimming team defeated Fayetteville-Manlius 97-79 on Tuesday.
Winning their events were: Annie Fletcher, Erin Lumia, Nika Jones and Tessa Queri (200 yard medley relay); Fletcher (200 yard freestyle); Julia Torell (200 yard IM); Queri (50 yard freestyle); Cassandra Finkbeiner (diving); Torell (100 yard butterfly); Mary Frances Ierlan (100 yard freestyle); and Katie Toole (500 yard freestyle).
The team lost to Oswego 101-82 on Thursday.
The girls face West Genesee tonight and Skaneateles on Thursday.
