susan majorCBA junior Morhese Oben recently sat down with Religion teacher Susan Major. Major received a B.S. in Communications/Media from SUNY Fredonia and a Masters of Science in Teaching at Le Moyne College. She is certified to teach English (grades 7-12). Major, who has been a member of the CBA family since 2010, is also a Commissioned Lay Minister in Family Life Ministry (Diocese of Syracuse).

Q-Since you have been here, you have mainly taught students in the junior high. How do you liking teaching juniors this year?

A-I truly enjoy teaching the juniors this year. I love the intellectual discussions and insights that the students have at this point in their educational careers.

Q- How do you enjoy spending your free time?

A- I love to read, write and cook! I actually have a book being published this year, entitled:  Joyful Journeys:  Sacred Pauses with God.  My passion has always been writing and speaking on matters of spirituality!  But, whipping up a new recipe or opening up a new book also makes me super excited.

Q- What do you look forward to most in your workday?

A-I look forward to seeing my students!  They teach me and inspire me everyday!

Q-What person do you look up to?

A-I look up to my husband. He is truly the best person I have ever known and he always challenges me to be the best version of myself.

Q-If you decided not to be a teacher, what would you like to do?

A-I would like to be a writer or chef!
