Recent CBA grads Claire Gollegly 12 & Brendan Smith 12 were honored at the 2011-2012 Scholar-Athlete Dinner held on June 11 in Cazenovia. Gollegly and Smith were among a select 142 Section III student-athletes honored for their hard work on the field and in the classroom.
Smith, a Fayetteville resident, also received a $500 scholarship from Coca-Cola that will help with the cost of tuition at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania this fall. Brendan had very successful cross-country and track and field seasons his last year at CBA, winning a variety of championships including states, federation, and a national championship for winning the 2000m steeplechase in Greensboro, NC.
Gollegly also had a very successful season. As one of 3 seniors on the team, she was lead-off batter and played an integral roll as the CBA varsity softball team earned its first-ever Section III championship. Claire will travel to Newark, DE this fall where she plans to study political science at the University of Delaware.
