Mass Kicks Off New Semester; Catholic Schools Week
The CBA student body, staff and faculty joined Rev. Louis Aiello, Director of Deacon Formation for the Diocese on Monday, Feb. 1, to celebrate the new semester and kickoff Catholic Schools week.
Senior Kate LaCasse read the Call to Worship.
“We come together at the beginning of our second semester,” LaCasse said. “It is good to seek God’s direction and guidance in all that we do throughout these weeks and months ahead of us. Let us always strive toward excellence in order that we might be a spark to our community, shining forth goodness and hope to others. Today, begins the celebration of Catholic Schools week. Christian Brothers Academy certainly embodies this year’s theme-Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service.”
Senior Brendan Keeney did the reading. Seniors Dan Kelly and David Polhemus were responsible for the general intercessions. The gift bearers were seniors Paige Nicolson and Emily Hanson and freshman Claire Nicholson.
Following communion, Vincent Carno, TJ LaDuca and Molly Oyer were commissioned as Eucharistic Ministers.
The “Jubilee” group, which includes both students and faculty, along with some instrumental and vocal soloists, provided the music for the Mass. For additional photos, visit our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/cbasyracuse/
