Merry Christmas!!!
Within the halls of the school, and out and about in the community, CBA students have certainly been in the holiday spirit.
Students in Peer Ministry delivered gifts to children at St. Vincent de Paul. Money raised during a Dress Down Day on Dec. 7 went toward the purchase of toys and clothing for the children. Peer Ministers colored with the children, played games and assisted Santa (Ryan Mackenzie) in handing out the gifts.
Senior Maddy Formikell put up a “mitten tree” in the Main Office. Throughout the month, gloves, mittens, hats and scarves were placed on the tree by students, faculty and staff. Once the tree was full, the items were delivered to children at CAP (Cathedral School at Pompei).
Peer Ministers in Community Outreach hosted a cookie decorating party for the kindergarten children at Seymour Dual Language Academy in Syracuse. In addition, students volunteered at St. Lucy’s and the Samaritan Center.
The student body, faculty and staff dressed in their favorite holiday sweaters, wore Santa caps and reindeer antlers on Thursday to school. The junior and senior high chorus and bands, the jazz band and orchestra treated everyone to some holiday music at an assembly in the morning. Santa Claus (Chase Tesmer) also made an appearance, as senior Sarah Dorsey recited the kneeling Santa prayer.
