Juniors Alexis Brown and Claire Hammerschmidt are all smiles after donating blood.
While the back-to-school stomach bugs and colds may have eliminated some donors, a number of students, staff, faculty and friends turned out to donate blood at the American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
This is the first of two blood drives sponsored by the National Honor Society. Another blood drive will be held in the spring. Each year, the CBA National Honor Society hosts the blood drives at the school for the American Red Cross. National Honor Society students helped out by volunteering their time during free periods to hand out snacks and drinks to blood donors.
Said one student who was donating blood, “It’s such a great cause and to know that I am helping someone means a lot to me.”
Senior Connor Agnew gives the “thumbs up” after he donated blood.
