The CBA student body, staff and faculty joined Fr. Chris Ballard, Pastor of St. James Parish and our Lady of Lourdes church, to celebrate All Saints Mass on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
“This feast day dates back several centuries when the church would commemorate the day after Halloween as a day to honor all holy men and women who had died and gone to heaven,” said senior Claire Carpenter in her Call to Worship. “Throughout history the great saints of the church were remembered on this day. These men and women, who gave their lives entirely for God, were people committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in everything they did.”
Many students participated in Mass including senior Jacob Swanson and junior Sarah Dorsey, who did the readings, and juniors Claire Nicholson, Phylicia LaTorre and Tommy Caputo who delivered the general intercessions. Gift bearers included: eighth graders Maya Geiss, Darien Tompkins, Kennedy Gregory, and Olivia Davis.
The orchestra and the Jubilee Chorus, which includes both students and faculty, along with some instrumental and vocal soloists, provided the music for the Mass.
Fr. Chris’ homily talked about various Saints.
President Brother Joseph Jozwiak commissioned sixteen students to serve as Eucharistic Ministers for school liturgies. Those students include: Sophia Burns, Chris Bushnell, Madison Doane, Matthew Doane, Nate Griffith, Makayla Kanerviko, Mary Kilmartin, Michael LaDuca, Jack Little, Meghan McKeen, Claire Nicholson, Olivia Penoyer, Delaney Picciano, Sophia Sportelli, Amanda Winn, and Anna Ziemba.
