Spirit Alive And Well
Students displayed their true CBA spirit recently as they dressed up in red, white and blue for ‘Murica Monday; wore a matching outfit with their friends on Twinning Tuesday; put on their wackiest and tackiest outfits on Wacky Wednesday; donned pajamas on Pajama Day on Thursday; and sported their Homecoming t-shirts and purple and gold on Friday, in celebration of Homecoming.
On Friday afternoon (Sept. 25), faculty and students gathered in the gym for a pep rally. Seniors Nate Burns and Will Ierlan emceed the event. Seniors Brennan Carman, James McGlynn, Geoff Parkes and Sir Dennis competed for Mr. CBA. Carman’s singing and dancing number drew the biggest applause from the student body, and he was voted this year’s Mr. CBA. Each of the fall athletic teams was also introduced.
Another one of the highlights of the Pep Rally was Assistant Principal Mark Person, who was on the receiving end of a cream pie in his face from his daughter, Lucy. During the week, students in Peer Ministry collected money to support the Corporal Kyle Schneider Foundation, which helps our troops and families. Students put their loose change and bills in jugs, which were labeled with a photo of an administrator or teacher. These teachers and administrators agreed to take a pie in the face at the Pep Assembly on Friday if their jug was one of the top ones in which money was collected. Mr. Person was the lucky soul!!!
The week culminated with an Alumni Tailgate and Homecoming football win over Nottingham. The spirited student section dressed in their Homecoming white t-shirts for a whiteout at the game. Noah Jordan Williams (offense) and Nick Aversa (defense) were named the Alumni Association’s Most Valuable Players.
