On Friday, Oct. 2 the student section at the football game against Liverpool had more spirit and energy than ever before. Not only were the students there to cheer on the Brothers against No. 1 and undefeated Liverpool, but also they were there to show their support for Spanish teacher Senora Gravelle, who is currently fighting breast cancer. The football team wore pink socks, and just about every student in the stands had some shade of pink on. Each time the Brothers scored a touchdown, confetti and pink baby powder showered the student section. Truly there was a sense of brotherhood. Students were asked that night why the CBA student section is one of the best in CNY?
Mark Lutz (Senior): “I think this year a lot more people have come out and have been more energetic. It’s totally different than past years.”
Lille Hunt and Maddie Cook (Seniors): “We are definitely more willing to cheer this year. I think it’s awesome that we can all come together and support one common cause. Different grades and different people are all coming together and it really shows what CBA is about.”
Mo Oben (Senior): “I think we are all coming together as a close-knit community because we are all here to support the boys. It’s always a fun time when everyone is coming out to have fun!”
Theresa Fallon (Senior cheerleader): From past years, the cheerleading team has been a little small, but as the student section has been progressing and getting more interactive, I feel like the program has developed a lot more. The student section has been helping us so much for the games. Thank you for all the parents and students supporting the football team this year. Let’s try to keep our Brother spirit alive and well!”
