Former Congressman James Walsh ’66 and former Onondaga County Executive Nicholas Pirro ’57, along with ten others will be honored by Christian Brothers Academy as Distinguished Alumni at a dinner on Nov. 7 at the Doubletree Hotel.
The award recognizes CBA graduates who have made significant contributions to society; and whose accomplishments, affiliations and careers have honored the legacy of excellence at CBA. The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented bi-annually alternating with the Lasallian Athletic Hall of Fame Award. Nine graduates of the school were honored in 2013, the inaugural year of the award.
In addition to Walsh and Pirro, this year’s recipients include: Dr. John A. Brennan ’77; Dr. Laura M. Cashin ’98; Joseph F. C. DiMento ’65; Matt Dwyer ’63 (posthumously); Michael Erwin ’98; Dr. Daniel L. Georgianna ’61; Bishop Borys Gudziak ’78; Brian Kim ’00; Rev. Frederick Mannara ’55; and John C. Smith, Jr. ’48.
The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. The actual ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
