CBA Spanish teacher Vivianne Saba was selected to receive the International Educator Award on behalf of the International Center of Syracuse and community partners including Syracuse University, Onondaga Community College, SUNY Upstate Medical and SUNY Oswego. The award was designed to recognize an outstanding educator whose teaching, research, creative work, and scholarship have significantly promoted global learning.

Saba, a DeWitt resident, was celebrated at the 2011 Central New York International Citizen Awards Dinner at Onondaga Community College on November 11th. The awards dinner is the kickoff event for Central New York’s International Education Week (November 14th – 18th), which emphasizes the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. Over 500 people attended to applaud the work of Vivianne and her peers that have made strides in promoting international education.

Saba was the only K-12 educator recognized at this years event and was nominated by Dr. Elane Granger, Associate Director at Syracuse University’s Slutzker Center for International Services.
