VOICES: Students Express Opinions

CBA students shared their opinions on various topics in the “Voices” section of the Post-Standard and/or Syracuse.com during the months of December 2010 and January 2011.

Several wrote pieces in response to the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

  • Alessandra Carno ’14, aerospace engineer

  • Deanna Cerlanek ’14, basketball coach

  • Ben Fruce ’14, orthodontist

  • Emery Lawrence '14, musician

  • Joshua Lacey ’14, a career in marine biology

  • Sarah Lester '14, ballerina

  • Meghan Macri ’14, physician

  • Molly Murphy ’14, lawyer.

  • Barnes Werner ’14, cardiovascular surgeon

Others wrote in response to the question “What advice would you give to kindergartners?”

  • Claire Bailey ’14, said “enjoy the here and now”

  • James Bruska ’14, said “work for your dreams”

  • Michael DiGiorgio ’14, said “use your imagination”

  • Zachary Grzelka ’14, said “honesty is the best policy”

  • Josh Lacey ’14, said “If people are mean to you, then they are not your friends”

  • Megan Anne Pierce ’14, said “become your own person”

In addition:

  • Natalie Sportelli ’11, wrote about playing the game of Quidditch

  • Courtney Finkbeiner ’13, wrote about her experience as a volunteer at the Samaritan Center, as well as a second piece arguing that student-athletes should be exempt from physical education classes in order to pursue other interests.
