Approximately 300 family, friends and alumni attended the 35th Annual Christian Brothers Academy Lasallian Dinner and Auction on April 13.

“A Night On The Orient Express” was the theme of this year’s celebration which directly benefits students at the school by helping to offset tuition costs, and thus ensuring that CBA remains accessible to those who desire a high caliber, college preparatory, Catholic education in the Lasallian tradition.

One-hundred fifty silent auction and 14 live auction items were featured. Silent auction items included: fine dining gift certificates and entertainment, electronics, sports memorabilia, gift baskets, plus much, much more. Live auction items included: trips to Los Cabos, Orlando, A Dude Ranch in Tucson, North Carolina Beach House, Legends Golf Resort in Myrtle Beach, Notre Dame football tickets, SU season football tickets, and a trip to the Rose Bowl. A Boston Red Sox package, a New York Yankees package, poker night, a catered brunch, dinner for 10 and front row graduation seats were also included in the live part of the auction.

Also, part of the live auction was “Raise Your Paddle.” During the year, teachers are asked to submit proposals for teaching aids or equipment that will directly benefit the students. This year’s “Raise Your Paddle” live-auction funds went to school mission trips and to purchase 90 new convertible Chromebooks (3 chrome-carts).

Raffle tickets for a trip to Paris were sold, and the Moltion family was the lucky winner.

Several students volunteered, passing out hors d’oeuvres, checking coats and assisting with the live portion of the auction. Seniors Belle Polanco and Tony Zarella and junior Dempsey Horan provided musical entertainment.  John Marshall, AFSC ’67 was the emcee and Jim Kirby was the auctioneer.
