After 36 years, Christian Brothers Academy announced it will retire its annual Corvette Raffle following the conclusion of this year’s drawing.
For decades, the raffle served as one of their largest fundraisers, with many Central New York residents fondly recalling the featured Corvette on display inside Destiny USA (formerly Carousel Mall) outside JCPenney or at the Fairgrounds.
“For 36 years, the Corvette Raffle has reflected the extraordinary generosity of the Central New York Community,” CBA President Matthew Keough shared. “Beyond the excitement of winning a car, this tradition has helped create opportunities for generations of CBA students. While the raffle is coming to an end, the difference it has made in young lives will endure. We are deeply grateful to everyone who made it possible.”
While many assume the grand prize vehicle is donated, CBA purchases the car each year. Corporate sponsorships—including this year's lead sponsor, West Herr Chevrolet—have played a critical role in keeping the fundraiser profitable for the school.
“Retiring the raffle was a difficult decision made in consultation with our leadership team and board of trustees following extensive data analysis and navigating an ever-changing market,” Kaitlyn Wheeler, Director of Special Events said. “We are deeply grateful to all our partners who made this raffle possible over the years. Special thanks to CBA alumnus E.J. Jackson ’01 and West Herr Chevrolet for their generous partnership and for sourcing a beautiful car to conclude the series. We also want to thank the Syracuse Corvette Club for their steadfast support over the years. Their members have shown up for CBA and our raffle in so many meaningful ways.”
Tickets remain available for this year’s final drawing, taking place on Dec. 31. The grand prize is a 2026 Blade Silver Corvette Stingray Coupe featuring a red leather interior. Second place is $1,000 and third place is $500.
Tickets can be purchased online here or in person at the school.
