Christian Brothers Academy is pleased to announce that Al LaMont of Liverpool, NY is the winner of the school’s 35th Annual Corvette Raffle.
LaMont’s winning ticket number was 005670. The second prize winner of $1,000 was Michael Wood of Bridgewater, NY (ticket number 005313). Winning third prize of $500 was Frank Korkmazian of Fresno, CA. Ticket number 14472.
The names were drawn by President Matt Keough in the Dan Byrne ’70 Performing Arts Center in front of faculty and staff. Also on hand was Town of Dewitt Police Officer Skibinski, Kathy Wiese, Chair of the CBA Board of Trustees, RJ Nicollli ’98 and Jay Murphy ‘90, both board trustees, Mike Barker of Integrated Marketing. Jim Ennis, President of the Syracuse Corvette Club, and Sandra Winkworth Club Governor of the Syracuse Corvette Club were also in attendance. Assisting with the drawing were seniors Khalil Cox, Emerson Salsbery, and Violet Bezigian.
“You have to be kidding me,” LaMont responded when reached by phone. “I’m in shock.”
Proceeds from the raffle help to benefit the Financial Aid and Scholarship programs at CBA.
“The corvette raffle is one of CBA’s major fundraising events and something our school community looks forward to each year,” Kaitlyn Wheeler Director of Special Events and Programs at CBA said. “It is a vital part of sustaining the outstanding programs and facilities we offer our students at CBA. We thank all of those who supported this year’s corvette raffle, especially our parent volunteers, and we congratulate Al LaMont this year’s winner.”
