Senior Spotlight: Allie Howard

Senior Spotlight Allie Howard

Where will you be attending college and what is your intended major?

I will be attending the University of Rochester. I applied as a Biology major, but I’m intending on switching to Neuroscience.

What others schools were you accepted to?

I wasn’t accepted into any other schools because I applied to U of R early decision.

Why did you choose this college?

I chose Rochester for a variety of reasons. I love the research opportunities Strong Hospital can give me because I would love to do mental health research. Also, it’s not too close to home, but not too far away either, which is exactly what I wanted. The population isn’t too big or too small, so I won’t feel like just another kid, but also I can meet so many different people.

Fondest memory of high school?

My fondest memory of high school isn’t really a specific memory. It’s more based around the fact that I got to meet and become friends with hundreds of kids from all around the Syracuse area. I would have never been able to do that if I didn’t choose CBA.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I try to exercise, but I also love to sing, so when I’m home alone or have nothing to do, I’ll just go off the top of my lungs.

Favorite quote or saying?

Live the life you love and love the life you live.

What advice would you give to underclassmen?

Everything will be just over in the blink of an eye, so make a note of everything that happens in high school, so you have something to remember of it.

Twenty years from now, what would you like to be doing?

I would love to have my PhD, working in the hospital on research on either Parkinson’s Disease, or mental health.
