This year’s Fall Drama, Inherit The Wind, will take place on Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Dan Byrne ’70 Performing Arts Center.
The drama is set in a sweltering courthouse which holds the attention of the small town of Hillsboro. Here, Bertram Cates stands on trial for teaching Charles Darwin in his science classroom. Matthew Harrison Brady, a larger than life political candidate, stands as attorney accusing Cates of indoctrinating the youth of Hillsboro away from the teachings of the Holy Bible. Henry Drummond stands as attorney for the defense, while E.K. Hornbeck, an outspoken critic from Baltimore, takes notes on the small town justice delivered by the good people of Hillsboro.
